PAYMENT AND REFUND POLICY

1. General Provisions

1.1. Yaponshop provides proxy shopping and international delivery services for goods purchased from Japanese stores and auctions.

1.2. All transactions on the website are processed in the website currency Japanese Yen. Payments made in other currencies are automatically converted at the internal exchange rate valid at the time of the transaction.

1.3. When a payment is made on the website, funds are added to the personal account balance. This payment does not represent the direct purchase of a specific item at that time.

2. Personal Account Balance Top-Up

2.1. After a successful payment, the amount received (minus payment system fees, if applicable) is credited to your personal account balance.

2.2. Funds from your balance may be used for:

  • Purchasing items and placing auction bids
  • Domestic shipping within Japan
  • Packaging and additional services
  • International shipping

2.3. All balance top-ups and deductions are displayed in the “Transaction History” section of your personal account.

3. Payment Methods

3.1. Payments on the website may be made through one or more external payment providers bank cards, electronic wallets, and other available methods

3.2. The current list of available payment methods and any applicable payment provider fees are displayed on the payment page.

3.3. When making a payment, you are redirected to a secure payment provider page. Payment data is processed by the respective provider in accordance with its own rules and policies.

3.4. The service does not store your bank card details and is not responsible for technical failures or disruptions caused by third-party payment systems.

4. Balance Deductions

4.1. Funds are deducted from your balance in the following cases:

  • When an item is purchased based on your auction bid or at a fixed price
  • When paying for domestic shipping within Japan
  • When creating and paying for an international shipment
  • When paying for additional services (packaging, consolidation, insurance, etc., if applicable)

4.2. Deductions are made automatically when the corresponding action is performed, or by a service administrator when processing your order in accordance with the website rules.

5. Refunds to Personal Account Balance

5.1. Refunds to your personal account balance are possible in the following cases:

  • Your auction bid was outbid and the item was not purchased
  • The seller or auction platform did not complete the sale for reasons beyond your control
  • The order was canceled before purchase with the approval of the service administration
  • A technical error occurred that made the purchase impossible

5.2. In such cases, unused funds are returned to your personal account balance.

5.3. The time required for a refund to the balance depends on confirmation or cancellation timelines from the auction platform, seller, and/or payment provider.

6. Refunds to Bank Card or Original Payment Method

6.1. By default, all refunds are made to your personal account balance.

6.2. Upon your request, funds may be refunded from your balance to the original payment method (bank card or other method used for the initial top-up).

6.3. To request a refund to a card or wallet, you must:

  • Contact customer support through your personal account or via the contact details provided on the website
  • Specify the amount you wish to withdraw
  • Confirm ownership of the payment method, if required

6.4. Refunds are processed within a reasonable period after verification (usually within several business days). The exact timeframe depends on the bank and payment provider.

6.5. Payment system and/or bank fees may apply to refunds. Such fees may be deducted from the refunded amount.

7. Returns and Exchanges of Goods

7.1. Yaponshop is not the seller of the goods. The service acts only as a proxy when purchasing and delivering items.

7.2. The possibility of returning or exchanging goods depends on the policies of the specific Japanese store or auction platform and is reviewed individually.

7.3. If a return to the seller is possible, the return conditions, deadlines, and shipping costs are agreed upon with the service administration.
